The Australian Graphic Design Association - AGDA
Skills Media are members of The Australian Graphic Design Association - AGDA. AGDA is the national association for professional graphic designers. AGDA was founded in 1988 to facilitate the advancement of the graphic design profession in Australia.
AGDA's goal is the establishment of fair and productive working relationships between graphic designers and their clients. AGDA do this by providing designers with the tools and information to take control of their professional lives. AGDA also work on increasing awareness of the value of graphic design in business.
AGDA manage a program of awards, exhibitions, seminars and professional development activities for AGDA members. Many of these activities are also available to the wider design and business communities.
AGDA operates through State councils throughout Australia. AGDA's State councillors, who are all volunteers with busy professional lives of their own, are supported by a National Secretariat and a National General Manager. A National Council, made up of State Representatives and selected national advisors, coordinates activities on a national basis.
